Wild Wood Beach Fitness
Samui's only beachfront gym. Two hundred square metres of sand and handmade wooden equipment.
Wild Wood Beach Fitness at Chaweng Buri Resort is Ko Samui's only beachfront gym — 200 sqm of beach with handcrafted wooden equipment, set in the trees at the top of the sand. It is open daily 09:00 to 18:30 and is free for resort guests. There is an ice bath, healthy bar items, towels, free Wi-Fi and swimming pool access. Day, week and month passes are sold at the Wild Wood reception for non-residents. Personal training and classes are coming.
There is no other gym like this on the island. Two hundred square metres of beach under the trees, fitted out with handcrafted wooden equipment — you train in the shade with the sea a few metres away, not in a basement with a mirror.
There is an ice bath. There is a bar with things worth drinking after. Towels, Wi-Fi and pool access come with it, and for anyone staying at the resort the whole thing is free.
Personal training and scheduled classes are being added.
The wellness side: sauna, steam, ice bath, jacuzzi
A few steps behind the rigs, in the same corner of the beach, and included in every pass — including the wellness-only ones below, which cover all of this without the gym.
| Setting | ||
|---|---|---|
| Finnish sauna | 82–88°C | Seats six. Glass front, so you watch the beach from the bench. |
| Steam room | 43–46°C | Tiled, self-directed, no appointment. |
| Ice bath | 10–15°C | A wooden tub under the palms, in the open air. |
| Jacuzzi | 36–38°C | For after the cold, or instead of it. |
| The sea | 28–30°C | Thirty seconds away, all year. |
A yoga shala sits between them and the water, and there is a second massage sala at the northern end of the beach. Temperatures are checked at opening, midday and close.
Thirty seconds is the whole point: it is the same short walk from the hottest thing here to the coldest, and then into the sea. Most guests arrive intending to use the gym and end up building the day around the heat instead.
The sequence that works — sauna, cold, rest, repeat — is drawn out minute by minute on the Living Stay page, along with what to expect the first time and when to leave it for another day.
What it costs
Free for resort guests — the gym, the sauna, the steam room and the pool, with nothing to pay and nothing to book.
Outside visitors are welcome too. The full passes cover the gym, everything in the wellness list above and the swimming pool, all day. The two wellness-only passes cover the sauna, steam room, ice bath and jacuzzi — not the gym.
